Can a guinea pig live with a 1 year old rabbit?

I have a one year old rabbit. I have heard that guinea pigs and rabbits get on well together. If I bought a guinea pig could I put her in the same hutch as my rabbit or would I have to buy a new hutch for the guinea pig?
