How can I help my mom without my hurting her?

Tell her that you read somewhere that it is better to continue reading other books whilst you are writing your own as this has been said and also that she could start a seperate piece also. Once she starts reading more she will develop but i really cant say much more as without reading your mums stuff i cant criticise
